I don't know how anyone could give this book less than 5 stars. I would give it a million stars if I could. I have been following Lindsay'a blog for a couple years now. So far, all the recipes I made from her blog have been awesome. Her ice box cakes are off the chain. Sooooo easy and no bake. The pictures in this book are simply georgeous. I personally like cookbooks with lots of pictures so I know what the final product looks like. There is a picture with every single recipe in her book. I'm not a beginner baker. In fact, I have been baking for 40 years. This is a cookbook for all levels of bakers. Her recipes are on point. We all like to tweak recipes to make it fit our taste. With Lindsay's, I never have to. It's ALWAYS on point. Well done, Lindsay ! You have done an awesome job. Can't wait to make some of these sweet treats ! â¤ï¸ðŸ°ðŸŽ‚ðŸª
We just used Lindsay's recipes to bake two birthday cakes, and they were fantastic! The recipes were easy to understand, and her explanations for how to decorate were so clear and helpful. I had never made a cheesecake before, but it turned out deliciously, thanks to her helpful tips.The other thing I love about this cookbook is the gorgeous photos. They are inspiring to view.For those with kids, this cookbook is a surprising hit, too. My crew loves looking through it, and the 10 y.o. is the one who did the decorating, following Lindsay's great instructions.We can't wait to make more items from the book and her blog.
I have had the good fortune to work with Lindsay and to be a "taste tester" of many different cakes. (A tough job, but someone has to do it!) They are ALL gorgeous and delicious. And the pictures of the cakes in this book will make you ponder whether you can eat the book! :) Lindsay sweats all the details in taste and presentation, so you don't have to. A perfect gift for the baker in your life!
This is a great cookbook.The book is filled with mouthwatering cake recipes with gorgeous accompanying pictures. I think one of the best things that Ms. Conchar does in the book is to give extremely useful tips and advice on how a person can make the best cake possible. This includes everything from cake mixing and icing tips, to the ingredients you use and even the best type of pans to use. The tips she provides can even be applied to other baking endeavors as well.
I wanted to wait until I'd had this book for a while and was able to use several recipes. I think this book is beautifully written, easy to follow, and has some great recipes. I've recently had to go gluten free and was easily able to adapt each recipe. All of the cakes have been delicious, with the chocolat e mousse brownie cake and tiramisu cake being the fan favorites.My only complaint about this book is that the icings are unbearably sweet. For example, on the cinnamon roll cake I cut out the glaze icing and made it a naked cake instead of a fully iced cake, and still people had a hard time eating a whole piece. It was just so sweet it hurt your stomach. I've ended up making the majority of the cakes naked in order to cut down on the icing, but you can still tell the icing is too sweet.Overall, the cakes themselves are fantastic and, if you know what you're doing, you can reduce the amount of icing you use, but if you're the type who prefers smooth, buttery icing over super sweet, just be aware this book isn't the best for that.
I have a bit of a sweet crush on Lindsay. Her blog Life Love Sugar is totally stalk-worthy. Okay, creepiness aside, she really is a very talented baker. She explains everything in detail and gives you an idea of how long the dessert will stay fresh. Her recipes are easy to follow and they turn out beautifully. Some of the desserts are a little ingredient pricey but not all of them. I'm super glad I bought this book. People think I'm a very talented baker but the truth is it's people like Lindsay Conchar who make me look good.
The graphics are reason enough to buy this book. You can follow her on instagram (lifelovesugar)and get even more awesome recipes. She's the recipe queen. She simplifies difficult recipes so that even a novice like me can make an excellent cake. Look up her Nutella cake recipe if you don't believe me (it's free)! If you're intimidated you can make it without the ganache, you will be amazed. This book is pretty enough to display on your counter. Highly recommended!
Absolutely stunning pictures. I love that the recipes are easy to follow and Lindsay provides detailed instructions for novices in the kitchen. Of course, the decorating details are amazing and so creative. I'm a follower of her blog Life, Love and Sugar and am very excited to see so many of her wonderful recipes all in one place. Especially love the idea of simple, since I am a beginner.
